Almost Halloween!

I love Halloween. It's such a fun time of year, especially now that I have two little ones. The costumes. The weather changing. The candy. Oh, yes, the candy. Here in south central Kentucky, the weather can be pretty much anything at this time of year. It was 75 degrees the year Leah was born, and I can remember trick or treating as a kid with it spitting snow! It makes planning costumes tough, but we always seem to manage okay. This year is looking like it will be cool and rainy. :( I'm pretty bummed about it, but we will just have to make the best of it.

The kids are super excited! They both picked out their costumes this year. Gone are the days of having babies and getting to pick them out myself, ha! I really wanted to dress Leah as a peacock, but she wasn't having it. She picked out a black and purple witch costume instead. Brice is going as Darth Vader.

I made their pails, of course, by applying vinyl cutouts to them. They go perfectly with their costumes!

Brice's Kindergarten class is having a party day with treats. His teacher is providing cupcakes, and students are encouraged to send in treats and small gifts like pencils, stickers, etc.  I filled small treat bags with three pieces of candy each. The bags have a cute chevron print on them (LOVE!) and I purchased them at Hobby Lobby for 40% off. I get so excited about these kind of things. They may seem simple and trivial to some, but I didn't have parents who were active in my education or school life. Getting to do these things now, though it's as a parent instead, is very important to me. :)

Happy Halloween!

Old Window Makeover with Vinyl

I recently had a customer request a decal so that she could apply it to an old window and give it as a wedding gift. She painted the frame white and distressed some of the edges. Fortunately, the glass was nice and clear with no cloudiness, which can sometimes be an issue with old windows. She requested a quote about love in black lettering, with their last name and wedding date below. It turned out beautifully! A personalized, affordable gift idea!

Love it!

Don't pass on those old windows at the flea market/junk store! They can be turned into beautiful art with an affordable vinyl decal.

More About Me

I'm Bridgett. Wife to a science teacher and obsessed high school football coach. Mother to Brice and Leah. Ages five and three, respectively. I work from my home running a vinyl decal and crafts business. I sell locally, on Facebook and have an Etsy shop. I love being my own boss and setting my own schedule. I've always been a creative person. I enjoy crafting, creating, cooking, reading, decorating, shopping, exercising, and spending time with my family. I'm also a Zumba instructor and teach/attend classes 3-4 times per week.

I adore polka dots and pink peonies, hence the blog name. I have more polka dotted blouses than I care to count and pink peonies are my absolute favorite flower. I have three peony bushes in my backyard. Waiting for them to bloom is something I look forward to every spring. My avatar is a photo I took of my peonies in a vase on my table.

Here Goes....

Here I am. Dipping a toe into the world of blogging. I can't promise a blog full of amazing pictures and content. Heck, I can't even promise correct grammar and sentence structure 100% of the time. I'm not a writer or a professional. Just a regular gal documenting the ins and outs of life as a coach's wife, SAHM, and small business owner. Welcome to my journey.
